Established in 1921, the Douglass Theatre hosted early jazz and blues greats such as Otis Redding, Bessie Smith, James Brown, Ma Rainey and Little Richard while running popular feature length films and serials. Now completely renovated, the Douglass Theatre hosts a variety of events including film presentations and educational performances created by local children.
