Swimming off the boat dock with my family in Lake Murray, South Carolina. Lake Murray is a reservoir approximately 50,000 acres in size, and has roughly 650 mi of shoreline. It was impounded in the late 1920s to provide hydroelectric power to the state of South Carolina. Lake Murray attracts thousands each year with its countless boating and other water sport offerings to sports enthusiasts and leisure travelers. The lake hosts nationally sponsored fishing tournaments best known for its four types of fish including striped bass, largemouth bass, bream and crappie.
This one-hour guided tour among Victorian memorials and greenery includes actors in costume at various gravesides bringing history to life. Amerson River Park, also known as Amerson Water Works Park, is an urban park in Macon, Georgia. The park contains 180 acres of pristine forests, meadows, and wetlands surrounded by a river oxbow. At the north end of the Park, there is a canoe launch on the Ocmulgee River. Enjoy a 2-mile tubing float from the Jay Hall Memorial Canoe Launch to the Bragg Jam Canoe and Tube Takeout. The Park offers exciting amenities that families, adventurous outdoorsmen, and nature lovers will enjoy.
